Ipe decking is eight times harder than California Redwood and comes with a 20-year limited warranty without preservative treatment. It has an "A" rating for NFPA Class and a "1" rating for UBC Class. (NFPA is the National Fire Protection, NFPA No. 1 Fire Safety Code and UBC is the Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition Part VII, Fire Resistive Standard for Fire Protection.)
